JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for overseeing store operations and ensures efficient and profitable execution of Goodwill Industries programs, policies and expectations throughout 13 counties in Northwest Ohio. The District Manager creates an environment that delivers an outstanding customer experience in a clean, friendly and safe manner.

The District Manager plays a role in these primary business areas:

· Financial Analysis including controlling site cash and inventory, adhering to store budget and labor hour guidelines.

· Ensures store operations are efficient, accurate and completed in a timely manner to include, hiring, training and developing of personnel as needed.

· Train new store managers one on one. All aspects of the store manager responsibilities must be covered during this intensive training program.

Requirements and Expectations:

· Assist in meeting or exceeding sales and net profit goals, the organizational strategic plan goals or other Critical Performance Factors set by VP; Donated Goods/Retail.

· Perform store audits; as well as create potential revisions to ensure the store is performing tasks relevant to department standards.

· Assist in the coordination and teamwork among staff, partners and the business community. Facilitate effective and positive interdepartmental and interpersonal communications and resolve operating and morale issues.

· Assist in maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

· Act as a positive role model for team members in all aspects of professional performance.

· Observe safety procedures and personnel policies and ensure compliance by staff.

· Observe and report necessary facility maintenance request

  • Continually evaluate departments under supervision for:
  • Safe practices and procedures;
  • Efficiency in work procedures, and cost of operations, while ensuring suitability.
  • Develop and maintain departmental procedures that will promote and foster high standards of integrity and morale in Goodwill’s personnel.

Regular Duties:

  • Train new and existing team members.
  • Assure compliance with Agency policies.
  • Represent the Agency to outside groups/businesses.
  • Prepare and/or approve reports.
  • Maintain records and files.
  • Promote a spirit of teamwork.
  • Effectively and productively manage time.
  • Maintain an acceptable quantity and quality of work.
  • Attend meetings and training programs as directed.
  • Advise VP; Donated Goods/Retail of operational problems and maintenance requirements.
  • Perform any and all duties deemed necessary by the Agency.

Requirements and Qualifications:

· Positive attitude

· Strong skills in communication, organization and follow-through.

  • Ability to merchandise and manage store operations effectively.
  • Prior experience with P & L statements, inventory management & loss prevention.

· Prior supervisory or management experience.

  • Must be able to motivate and direct store teams to achieve all operational/sales goals.
  • Ability to adjust priorities and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain records and documentation pertaining to work force.
  • Prefer at least 5+ year’s retail management experience.
  • Prefer at least 2+ years’ experience in maintaining budgets, P&L statements and Operations.
  • Position will include long periods of walking, standing, bending, stooping and/or twisting.
  • Must be able to operate a pallet jack and lift to 50 lbs.
  • Must relate well with supervisors, peers, subordinates, other departments team members and be continually mindful of Goodwill’s mission to serve disabled and disadvantaged persons.
  • Must be available in person or by telephone during regular business hours and after hours and on weekends when necessary.
  • Travel to all donated goods locations as directed. Complete all tasks and requests given by the VP; Donated Goods/Retail.

OCCASSIONAL DUTIES OR SPECIAL ASSIGNMENTS:

· Must work flexible hours and weekends. Travel for meetings and training as required

· Will assist VP; Donated Goods/Retail with any new store builds or store remodels

· You may be responsible for day to day operations at any location at any given time

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
