Bogart Construction’s Estimator works as a member on the Estimating Team to provide support on bids at the proposal preparation and submission phase. This position’s primary function will be to maintain an accurate record of potential bidders and support the Estimating Manager and Project Managers at bid time. The Estimator will also be tasked with reviewing subcontractor bids for accuracy and to prepare bids for submission to the client. This includes calling subcontractors daily, submitting thorough invitations to bid to interested parties and following up with those who are interested in bidding prior to the bid dates. The Junior Estimator must ensure that there are enough bidders for each trade of every project bidding and be able to provide an in house estimate if the number is not available.

Responsibilities / Duties:

• Work with Estimating Manager and Project Managers to scope projects to bid.
• Ability to read and understand all plans and specs.
• Perform accurate quality take-offs for all scopes for all trades
• General and prepares bids, estimates and budgets all meeting the client requirements.
• Be effective in preliminary estimating pricing, building systems and constructability.
• Maintain master subcontractor database.
• Respond to subcontractor inquiries and/or forward inquiries to Estimating or Project Manager as necessary.
• Track and respond to RFIs
• Prepare and distribute Invitations to Bid
• Schedule Job Walks with all vendors
• Organize bid documents in preparation for estimation
• Prepare bid documents and templates

Required Skills:

• Four-year degree from an accredited university within the construction, engineering, or business concentrations strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and understand all plans and specs
• 3-5 years’ experience in commercial construction, including experience with a commercial general contractor
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Detail oriented
• Thrives in a team environment
• Ability to work independently
