This person will be an integral member of the Foodservice and Retail Marketing team as well as conduct corporate analytics. This person will be responsible for conducting strategic advanced analytics along with the creation and maintenance of business reporting. They will also help to drive sales, improve promotional merchandise and foodservice performance by utilizing the best analytical driven techniques. This person will support a variety of projects within the organization and will report to the VP of Retail.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Analyze and create relevant business data to refine, define and turn into actionable items.
• Compare sales and margin data to the industry and look for new items, pricing and promotional strategies and category opportunities to enhance and drive business.
• Develop analyses and insights that will help with business issues including SKU Rationalization, new item introduction and tracking, category and sub-category reviews for all products.
• Support short- and long-term strategic growth initiatives, planning and general business analysis independently and with other departments.
• Analyze past sales to adapt and improve future planning.
• Utilize consistent competitive analysis and benchmarking approaches to identify marketplace themes, analyses that are in alignment with strategic objectives and are successfully executed in stores.
• Work collaboratively with category, merchandising and other leadership to ensure growth in the businesses.
• Work directly with the VP of Retail on the development of strategic plans, maps, and store/foodservice growth targets for execution.
• Create spreadsheets, charts and reports that contain relevant projections and performance data that can be easily understood by diverse audiences.
• Maintain and enhance category reporting, seasonal reporting and trends in assigned business units.
• Analyze and identify opportunities to decrease overall cost of the products.
• Review margin, inventory turns and vendor service levels across the organization.
• Work with all aspects of our primary distributor as it relates to product item management, distributions, communications, planogram maintenances that are facilitated through the electronic supplier communication interfaces or via other approved forms.
• Assist in testing and implementing new procedures or software upgrades and/or implementation.
• Assist with loyalty program management, analysis and enhancements.
• Travel will be minimal but must be willing to periodically go in the field and to stores, vendors and shows.
• Other duties of category management and analysis as needed.
• Provide strategic and analytic support for corporate and other non-retail marketing initiatives as directed by company President.
• Frame analyses and determine best method for presenting results using data visualization tools.
• Support President, CFO and business unit leaders in preparing analysis needed to develop and refine strategic plans and initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of retail experience
• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field(s) preferred.
• Prior supervisory and leadership experience a plus.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, to include Word, Excel & Power Point, PDI.
• Must be detail oriented, accurate, and able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
