Summary

This position is for the Fish Peddler's Market in Newport. Responsible for managing all aspects of the restaurant and retail market operation. This role will serve as the head of the leadership team, leading the staff, while creating a productive, profitable operation that serves the community and the significant influx of tourism. Developing staff, managing scheduling, controlling expenses, restaurant ordering, shortages and all aspects of merchandising and inventory control for the retail store. Responsible for product knowledge, leading the diamond philosophy, quality control, in addition to reporting to leadership on the financial status, operational highlights and needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Be a role model in projecting and applying The Pacific Group Diamond Philosophy (Productivity, Quality, Excellence and Teamwork) and promote teamwork at all times.
  • Lead the company’s mission by ensuring to first identify, then satisfy the customers’ needs profitably creating a positive, welcoming, friendly environment.
  • Hiring and training of all team members in the market and Restaurant
  • Assist customers with inquiries, shipping orders, and complaints.
  • Scheduling team members to make sure department is adequately staffed at all times and ensuring it is adhered to by all team members.
  • Schedule and conduct staff meetings
  • Ordering of products and supplies; manage inventory and count at the close of the day at the end of the period.
  • Ensure that all facility and equipment is kept clean and in good working order.
  • Ensure that all restaurant health regulations are being met. to include proper staff licenses and training requirements are met.
  • Bank deposits, tills, daily sales numbers and financial matters.
  • Team member relation issues as needed.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises team members in the Retail Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to successfully perform the job.

A. Education and Experience

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred:

  • Minimum one year related experience and/or training. Has experience running shifts without supervision.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements

  • Oregon Liquor Control commission Server Permit
  • Oregon State Food Handlers permit

C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

  • Ability to work full time.
  • Ability to work irregular hours, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. .
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Effective communication skills.
  • Basic math, reading and computer skills
  • Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (email)
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to follow directions and work with autonomy once given directions.
  • Ability to multi task successfully
  • Ability to solve problems as they arise.

Total Compensation

At Pacific Seafood, your base wage is only a portion of your overall compensation package. When you add in the additional benefits below to our competitive base wage you can increase your total compensation up to 25%.
