Are you an active college or culinary student or Nordstrom employee working towards a degree in Culinary, Hospitality, Restaurant Management, Business or a related field and graduating in 2023, 2024 or 2025?

As a Nordstrom Restaurant Group Extern, you’ll rotate throughout our different restaurant concepts to gain experience in front of house, back of house, and in our specialty coffee bars. Nordstrom opened its first restaurant nearly 40 years ago and has made food and beverage an important part of its in-store customer experience. We have teams in over 200 locations providing quality food and beverage while being customer obsessed.

In this role, you’ll…

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Complete a comprehensive Manager in Training program that covers all the ins and outs of running a successful food and beverage outlet
• Learn, embrace and focus on our culture and the points of difference that set us apart from competitors
• Build business acumen through managing financial results against a P&L
• Utilize systems to manage performance expectations in a from scratch kitchen and bar environment while also fostering creativity through features programs that drive business, engaging customers by highlighting partnerships and seasonal ingredients.
• Prepare to lead, motivate and develop a staff that focuses on business goals of operational excellence, driving traffic and growing people & partnerships
• Support the success of the Restaurant Group by going above and beyond to keep customers happy, implement store strategy, comply with company procedures and manage productivity

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Passion and commitment to delivering exceptional service and consistent quality – is customer obsessed
• Solid written and verbal communication skills
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment, is curious and ever changing, and embraces working a flexible schedule
• Ability and desire to extend yourself in order to train, coach and foster talent
• A food handler’s card / liquor service permit where required by local and state guidelines
• Currently enrolled or recently graduated from qualifying program (e.g., culinary, hospitality degree)
