The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing respiratory therapy under medical direction, in the treatment, management, control and diagnostic evaluation and care of patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and diseases. Job duties include but are not limited to:

• Provides care for medically complex patients who are critically ill requiring respiratory / ventilator support
• Compare to ICU step down level of care
• Excellent clinical outcomes = employee satisfaction
• 30 day length of stay allows for strong patient relationships
• Multidisciplinary approach to patient care
• Participates in the management of patients on life support systems: performing appropriate changes based on blood gas results and weaning studies
• Perform patient assessments, speaking valve, arterial blood punctures and analysis
• Sets up, verifies proper function, operates and monitors all invasive and non-invasive respiratory equipment on patients in need of respiratory assistance.
• Accurately complete all required documentation

Qualifications: Position Requirements:

• Must be a CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist) or RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
• New Jersey License or License eligible
• Ability to function effectively in a fast paced, high pressure environment.
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
• Must have excellent customer service skills.
• Must demonstrate problem solving skills
• Must be able to accommodate working weekends and holidays as the position requires.
• Team Player
• New grads welcome
• BLS required, ACLS preferred.
