IMPORTANT NOTE:

Position is limited funding / limited time, subject to Weber Prosperity Center of Excellence grant funding through June 30, 2025. Continued employment is not guaranteed after the current funding time period.

OVERVIEW:

Under the direct supervision of the Contracts Manager and/or Executive Director of the Prosperity Center of Excellence, the RIC performs complex public contact working with identified families experiencing the negative impacts of poverty. Is responsible for the development and implementation of prevention-oriented economic stability and mobility program utilizing evidence-based approaches to decrease risk factors and increase protective factors to combat the ill effects of extreme economic deprivation.

The goal of Weber County is to create an environment where all children can exercise the power of self-determination. Resilient families, community capacity and resource integration strategies are necessary to create healthy environments for children to grow, develop, and break the generational cycles of poverty. ICAN is a key program for Weber County's intergenerational poverty initiative. As such, this position will work full time to serve families in Weber County to develop the skills, social capital and access opportunities to become healthy and resilient.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop trusted relationships with families and assess the best way to address known and unknown issues through intensive resource integration and barrier removal.

Creatively develop strategies based on a deep understanding of each families' particular circumstances, beliefs, and behaviors.

Connect families to agencies in order to holistically meet family's needs – either by coordinating directly with one point of contact within a partner agency or assisting the family in navigating the availability of resources.

Coach families in the development of family resilience plans.

Collect and input data, administer assessments, track and report statistics.

Other duties as assigned.

ABOUT YOU:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Public Health Education, Community Health Education, Social Work, Lifestyle Management or a closely related field.

Experience: Two (2) years of related work experience (related internship experience taken into consideration).

Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge: Considerable knowledge of employability skills, economic stability and resources, health education methods and preventative health practices; knowledge of needs assessment, and resources available to families and how to access the human services systems.

Language(s): Spanish speaking proficiency is preferred.

Skills: Skills in working with families and human service partners, delivering presentations to individuals and groups; considerable skill in communicating verbally and in writing; basic computer, data entry and word processing skills.

Abilities: Ability to be creative, respectful and engage with all people, think outside the box and be innovative; ability to assess community and personal health needs; ability to work with antagonistic or hostile people; ability to communicate effectively and professionally verbally and in writing; ability to adapt presentations and materials to meet the needs of culturally diverse populations; ability to establish good working relationships with federal, state and local agencies, employers, property owners, health care providers, human service providers, and other local health departments, as well as, Utah Department of Health, local school districts, business and civic leaders, elected officials and the general public.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

May need to use laptop, cellphone, electronic tablet, mobile apps, audio-visual equipment, scanner, printer, and copy machine. Must have a valid Utah Driver's license, proof of insurance and a good driving record. Must have a flexible working schedule. The hours of operation will typically be 8am to 5pm; however, if special requests arise, such as periodic evening and weekend presentations and activities, after-hours accommodations may need to be made.
