Professionals and ensures the overall quality of care for all individuals receiving services align with the vision, mission, and values of Broadstep.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision to Direct Support Professionals.
- Prepare weekly team member schedules.
- Manage team member payroll and time off requests
- Demonstrate proficiency in the performance of all duties and responsibilities of a Direct Support Professional.
- Assist individuals with daily activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication administration.
- Assist in the development of Direct Support Professionals by providing ongoing guidance on standards of care to further the rehabilitation of individuals receiving services.
- Reinforce training through the provision of immediate feedback and support to Direct Support Professionals.
- Assist with conflict resolution and problem solving with team member and individuals, as appropriate.
- Motivate, lead, and mentor a high-performance team.
- Recruit and retain required team members with strong emphasis on employee engagement.
- Manage hiring, supervision, evaluation, scheduling, promotion, and corrective action in collaboration with the Program Managers and Human Resources of all team members within the residential department.
- Ensure compliance with team member training requirements.
- Maintain a current working knowledge of documentation requirements and assist in the completion of audits, to ensure compliance with company policy and state regulations.
- Ensure medications are properly dispensed and documented in accordance with company policy and nursing supervision and assist with monthly medication administration review procedures.
- Provide transportation on company vehicles as needed.
- Ensure proper and timely completion and submission of all documentation each shift.
- Utilize various verbal and physical behavioral interventions.
- Facilitate community involvement by accompanying individuals on outings and activities.
- Coordinate IDT meeting & the IHP/ELP
- Be an active part of multidisciplinary team that supports therapeutic and behavioral plans in partnership with operations, clinical staff, and co-workers to enhance the quality of life for those we support.
- Continually remain active, alert and able to respond to all scenarios.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
- Directly supervises direct support professionals within the community service department.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- High school diploma GED or College Degree
- Must be 21 years of age. One year of experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
- Access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance if providing transportation for individuals receiving services.
- Successful clearance of local and state background checks, post-offer drug screening and physical.
- Capable of successfully performing physical behavior interventions.
- Patience, excellent communication, and basic computer skills
