Budget Title: Senior Staff Assistant (SL-3)

Salary: $54,000

Residential Life serves the needs of 7,500+ residents through a system of six residential colleges. We strive to support the academic mission of the University by providing residents with a living-learning experience through our collegiate structure. Residential Life is embarking on an exciting new student staffing model, which transitions the RA role into several positions to better serve specific student needs and make the role more manageable. The department will continue to develop the new positions and implement the changes beginning in 2023-2024. The Residential Life Coordinator must be able to show a professional maturity to adapt and support the department through these changes.

Residential Life will continue to evolve and grow to meet student needs and to create a sense of belonging for our students. This includes but is not limited to: programmatic offerings, residential curriculum, and staffing roles and responsibilities at all levels.

Residential Life prides itself on its collaborations with campus partners, including the Fleishman Center for Career and Professional Development, the Student Affairs Administration program, the Masters in Social Work program, the Division of Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI), and Campus Recreational Services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the Director, Senior Associate Director, and Central Office staff members in setting the assessment direction and goals for the department.
  • Project manage new initiatives for the department including providing organization to project development, communication across the department, and keep timeline of projects on track
  • Maintain and execute a formal departmental assessment plan
  • Develop presentations and provide data analysis for communication streams both internal and external to the department
  • Provide departmental training on assessment including using Qualtrics and making informed decisions based on assessment
  • Assist with Housing as needed
  • Assist with other departmental administrative projects

The Residential Life Coordinator must possess a Bachelor's Degree and two years of responsible work experience. Attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and communication skills are necessary skills for success.


Job Requirements:

  • Experience in Student Affairs
  • 2 years work experience
  • Excellent administrative, communication, leadership and organization skills

Preferred:

  • Previous experience being organizational lead for complex processes
  • Previous experience managing more than one project at a time
