Residential EMR Specialist Job at Child & Family Services of Erie County
Position Summary:
Responsible for the smooth operation of the EMR computer software system, enabling users to complete their jobs efficiently. Provide training and support to all EMR users and assist with necessary upgrades or adjustments to maintain compliance.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provide functionality training and support primarily to Children’s Residential employees using the EMR, tailored to each user’s job responsibilities. This includes addressing any questions related to use of the system as well as correction of errors and keeping supervisors informed of pertinent system user issues (including staff non-compliance with associated policies and procedures).
- Provide support, to all Child and Family Services’ employees using the EMR. This includes addressing any questions related to use of the system as well as correction of errors and keeping supervisors informed of pertinent system user issues (including staff non-compliance with associated policies and procedures).
- Maintain user setup & access, applying appropriate security constraints (menus, Supervisory Tree, Scheduler, etc.)
- Responsible for creating and utilizing reports based on programmatic needs to ensure appropriate record compliance.
- Responsible to ensure the completion, or closing of month end services, so to allow the business and finance department to address claims.
- Responsible to ensure the EMR system is working appropriately, including working with vendor support as needed and applicable system settings and tables. This also includes maintaining software updates in conjunction with the Information Systems Department.
- Responsible for internal updates to the EMR system and forms as needed.
- Communicate with and participate in various teams and committees, relative to the EMR system. This includes coordinating requests for customization with team and committee members, and other stakeholders
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma required, human service degree preferred
- Strong computer skills; technical testing will be required during the interview process
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication
- Ability to travel between C&FS site locations may be necessary on a limited basis
- Experience with Credible or other EMRs preferred
- Compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations
- Skill in providing excellent customer service and support; organizing and prioritizing workload and meeting deadlines; and excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to work effectively with managers, co-workers, members of the public, and professional groups
- Consistently maintains ethical behaviors exemplary of quality, public service and fail standards, inclusively, among all employees and members of the public
- Must be able to multi-task on a frequent basis;
Environmental Working Conditions:
- Multi-level buildings with stairs, enclosed office environment.
- Travel between locations throughout the community.
