Residential Construction Field Assistant

The role of Field Assistant is responsible for maintaining and executing the efficiency of work on site. This job requires a great attitude, work ethic and the ability to work independently. The independent execution along with working as a pivotal part of a team is paramount. Field Assistants are responsible for overseeing that a variety of tasks are completed with quality and efficiency at the forefront.

Ideal candidates will possess strong hands-on experience, organizational skills, excellent mathematical and critical thinking skills. This position also requires physical strength, mechanical skills, attention to detail and dexterity.

Responsibilities:

• Planning: Understand how to efficiently manage your schedule & time.
• Physical Abilities: Must be able to carry 80 lbs.
• Schedule: Prepare and adhere to a schedule of designated tasks.
• Communication: Document the progress of the work and report to the project manager & superintendent.
• Independence: Work independently on executing tasks with a strong sense of urgency that does not compromise the quality of your work.
• Workmanship: Ensure that the reputation of the company is upheld in the market by producing high quality work. Showing efficiency in work and contributing to increasing the profitability of the company.

Education, Experience, and Competencies:

• 3+ years of experience as a general laborer, handyman, or carpenter
• Driver’s License required
• Excellent manual dexterity and physical strength
• Interpersonal and time management skills
• Listening skills, ability to clarify client requests, & the ability to take instructions.
• Proven success in a variety of construction work
• Excellent attitude with a motivated spirit towards learning new skills
• Trade school education with carpentry or building specialty, a plus
• Formal understanding of local, state, and federal building regulations, a plus

Pay Range: $13.00 - $22.00 per hour

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday

• Banner Elk, NC: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
