DuPont has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Research Scientist in the Electronics and Industrial, Semiconductor Technologies Lithography Group located in Marlborough, MA.

The Research Scientist will be responsible for the development of spin-on photolithography formulations for semiconductor applications. This will include both new product innovation and optimization of existing product lines to capture new growth opportunities. The Research Scientist will work closely with R&D materials team and development engineering to develop and commercialize industry-leading photolithography products as we expand and grow our business.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop of new spin-on photolithography formulations and processes for semiconductor application

• Establish fundamental understanding and structure-property relationship of new materials and formulations to accelerate innovation.

• Participate in cross-functional teams to drive new product development from concept shaping and validation to scale-up and commercialization

• Promote early-stage samples to customers for evaluation, feedback, and iteration

• Problem solving and using multiple analytical procedures to identify and characterize product development barriers

• Helps establish project plans, monitors performance according to plan and is accountable for delivering goals and objectives on targets

• Create and secure intellectual property for DuPont

• Analyze, organize and share data, write technical reports and presentations

• Network within the DuPont organization and external networks to identify potential technology leads and new innovations for Semiconductor Technologies Lithography

Qualifications:

• Proven track record of safe laboratory practices and methodology

• A Ph.D. in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials/polymer science or related field is required.

• BS/MS degree with extensive experience in photolithography would be considered.

• Experience in formulation design and product development of photolithography materials with a proven track record of accomplishment is desirable.

• An understanding of polymer and small molecule chemistry is desirable.

• An understanding of analytical methods including polymer and film characterization techniques (GPC, IR, NRM, MS, TGA, DSC, AFM, XRR, XPS, etc.) is desirable.
