Job Description
The Russ College of Engineering & Technology’s Institute for Sustainable Energy and the Environment (ISEE) at Ohio University seeks applications for the position of Research Engineer. The Research Engineer is responsible for oversight and completion of assigned ISEE process R&D activities. Duties include conducting process R&D associated with thermocatalytic and electrocatalytic processes, communicating project results and status, ensuring compliance with safety requirements, training student researchers, and regularly interacting with industrial partners
Responsibilities include:
1. Process Research: Responsible for achieving defined project milestones. Includes developing research plans, setup and troubleshooting new experimental setups, overseeing assigned daily process R&D research activities, including material preparation, conducting experiments, data analysis, and reporting;
2. Research Communications: Lead or support the development of project reports and new proposal initiatives. Publish journal manuscripts in peer-reviewed publications. Present research at regional/national conferences and industry meetings;
3. Student Mentorship: Advising and overseeing undergraduate and graduate student research, including manuscript development, presentations, and leading safety review board analyses;
4. Research Business Development: Identify new research partners, develop new research pathways, and conduct outreach to industry and academic partners.

Minimum Qualifications
Doctoral degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or related field and one-year of related work experience.
