Position Summary:
Conduct research on using reinforcement learning, deep learning, and design automation technologies to automate the process of electrical power converter design.
Essential Functions:
The candidate will (1) develop the fully-automated toolchain to generate the power converter design to be optimized via the reinforcement learning model; (2) perform research and development in formulating the proper representations of converter designs for the high-fidelity simulation and neural networks-based surrogate model; (3) collect high-quality data using the high-fidelity simulation and train the surrogate model to achieve good performance; (4) write research papers and project reports; and (5) attend project meetings and give research presentations.
Additional Functions:
Collaborate with PhD students and research associates in the project team.

Prerequisite Qualifications:
(1) MS and/or PhD degree in CS/ECE/EE. (2) Strong expertise and/or publications in power converter design, graph neural networks, and/or reinforcement learning.
Preferred Qualifications:
At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
