Repair Technician Job at Midwest Valve Services LLC
Midwest Valve Services, a Novaspect Company, is currently offering an opportunity for a Repair Technician with an emphasis in Isolation Valves and Field Service to join our fast paced, customer-oriented team in our Mandan, ND location. The successful candidate will have excellent industrial aptitude and will be committed to the success of our company. The candidate will be responsible for the accurate and efficient repair of Isolation Valves in our facility and at customer sites.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all safety guidelines
- Complete repair of Isolation valves, examples include but not limited to: Gate, Globe, Check, Butterfly and Ball valves, training supplied if needed
- Assist with the repair and testing of pressure relief valves and actuators
- Rigging and hoisting valve and actuator components in compliance with OSHA standards
- Assist in loading and unloading tools and equipment into service vehicles
- Complete valve repair and service reports
- Apply advanced math skills to verify critical dimensions
- Travel as required throughout Midwest Valve Services territory
- Drive company vehicle to and from job sites
- Overnight travel required; average travel time is roughly 50%-60% (Monday-Friday) over the course of the year
- Spring and Fall are outage seasons and are the busy travel times of the year
- Work weekends and afterhours as needed
- Maintain a clean work environment
- Other duties as required
Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma Required
- Industrial maintenance or industrial valve repair experience preferred
- Associates Degree in Industrial Mechanical Maintenance, Instrumentation or related Technology field Preferred
- Dedication to a safe work environment through effective housekeeping, workplace safety, etc.
Additional Requirements:
- Must have mechanical aptitude
- Must be able to take direction, use initiative and follow through to completion
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Computer application literacy including Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn internal business systems
- Strong attention to detail and conscientious nature
- Ability and strong desire to lead by example, as well as work well with others
- Must be willing to work on site at customer facilities
- Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to be insured on company insurance
- Must be willing to learn and improve skill level for future advancement
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Ability of hands to grasp and manipulate small objects/tools
- Ability to work with hand tools
- Ability to work at heights
- Ability to stoop, crawl and crouch while working on equipment on hands and knees
- Ability to work on your feet for 8 hours per day
- Ability to work in a loud industrial environment
- Comfortable working around industrial equipment with exposed moving parts
- Ability to climb stairs with up to 20lbs
- Ability to climb a 20ft. ladder
- Ability to drive on average 3-4 hours at a time
- Ability to drive 8 hours as needed in a day – although not typical
- Ability to work in high and cold temperature environments for extended hours
- Ability to have a face free from hair on occasions when needing to wear a respirator
Pay:
- Cash compensation potential: $66-83K (Inclusive of base rate, overtime, and bonus)
- Additional pay for field work
- This is an hourly role

Schedule:
- 7-3:30pm shop hours
- Travel up to 35% of the time (overnights in hotels)
