The Bike Center Santa Monica proudly serves the community by providing excellent service, great products, and sharing our experiences and knowledge of riding bikes. Our core business is operating bike centers in Santa Monica and Culver City, CA that serve as welcoming hubs for riders at all levels, young and old, new and experienced, to keep the spirit of riding alive in our area. We accomplish this by offering secure indoor bike parking, free air station, bike valet, bike rentals, guided walking and bicycling tours, bike education programs, sales of new and used bicycles and bicycling accessories, and operating full-service bike repair shops. The Bike Center has also received numerous awards for their commitment to sustainable practices, receiving a Sustainable Quality Award from the City of Santa Monica in 2014 for Economic Development and becoming a Platinum-level Bicycle Friendly Business awarded by The League of American Bicyclists.

The Bike Center Santa Monica is looking for a retail salesperson to join our team. Seasonal and/or Part-time to start with opportunity to move into full-time after 90-day waiting period. Basic computer skills are required and some retail POS experience as well. Candidates must be able to work on Weekends and Holidays through the end of the year. Please let us know if you are Bilingual and familiar with the downtown Santa Monica/Venice area. Starting pay at $16.50/hr and candidates can make more with proven bicycle experience and skill. We also offer a sales bonus program for staff to earn $1-$4 more per hour based on daily group sales - to reward staff on busier days (i.e. summer/weekends). Must be able to commute to the downtown Santa Monica area.

Responsibilities

-Welcome customers by greeting them and offering them assistance.
-Direct customers by showing them our rental fleet and prices; suggesting items.
-Advise customers by providing information on products, train customers how to use rental products, review liability forms with guests
-Process payments via Rent-it-Biz and PeekPro POS systems; check-in and check-out guests.
-Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Re-stock retail and drink displays, clean bikes and retail areas
-Use judgment to solve customer problems.
-Maintain scheduling commitments

-Able to problem solve as issues arise
-Must be able to lift 30 lbs
-Weekend and Holiday availability required
