Hiring Range: $13.00-$16.00 hourly
Do you have experience working with special events or in a front line customer service role? If so, come join the City of Olathe as a Rental Assistant.
This part-time position is responsible for monitoring a variety of business, organization and private party rentals at the city’s event venues. Events held include meetings, weddings, and other types of special events. This position is also responsible for the cleanliness of rooms and equipment, the safety of clients and guests and maintaining a positive and healthy environment.

The City of Olathe offers four event spaces; Eagles Landing at Lake Olathe, the Heritage Center at the Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop & Farm historic site, the Community Rooms at the Olathe Community Center and the Event Space at the Indian Creek Library.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as a representative and liaison of the city to rental clients and guests

Supervise and assist with room setups, flips, and take down as assigned

Responsible for closing and securing the venue at the end of rental events

Attend or monitor, as appropriate, room use functions to provide active support

Assist in enforcing city and rental venue policies, safety rules and regulations

Compiling simple written records related to assigned events

Must be able to work flexible hours. Shifts are primarily weekends, weeknights and some holidays.
Experience: At least one year of experience working with special events or in a customer service role is preferred. Must have excellent customer service skills, be detailed oriented
Education: High school graduate. Must be at least 18 years of age.
Licensed/Certifications: First Aid/CPR, must acquire within 90 days of employment.
