Regional Underwriting Manager, LexPro Financial Lines - South Job at AIG
The South Regional Manager for LexPro Financial Lines will be based in Atlanta and report to the East Zonal Lead. This role will be responsible for the management of the South team of underwriters, and oversee the execution of underwriting strategies for this portfolio of business. This position has direct accountability for the results of their unit with respect to profitability, growth and team composition.

- Monitor the performance of all products in the P&L
- Independently select, monitor, and price new and renewal business according to Company guidelines per Underwriter’s level of authority as outlined in individual “Authority Letter”.
- Market our products and services and travel to assigned wholesale brokers in the region.
- Communicate with brokers regarding rating, underwriting and policy issuance issues.
- Deliver profitable growth through effective risk selection; execute on rate, coverage and limits management strategies; drive targeted correction or remediation strategies as needed
- Deliver consistent underwriting best practices, in accordance with underwriting guidelines, to ensure rating, pricing, profitability, and structuring adequacy
- Support regional field underwriting staff through training and development activities
- Serve as key referral point for field underwriting staff within stated authority; apply knowledge of market and industry to provide guidance on complex risks, exposures, and decisions
- Serve as the point person between the Lexington South Region & Financial Lines team and Distribution
- Work collaboratively with all members of the Lexington West Region leadership team as well as Actuarial, Legal and Claims departments
- Help create a culture that promotes collaboration, innovation, diversity and inclusion; successfully conduct talent acquisition, employee engagement and performance monitoring/evaluation work
- Represent the company in a professional manner at industry functions, conventions, and corporate events.
What we are looking For:
Bachelor's degree- Minimum 8+ years of Commercial Insurance Company, Agency or Brokerage experience, within the Professional Liability space.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships
- Advanced knowledge of US Professional Lines business including product features, forms, regulatory environments and risks etc.
- Demonstrated sales, marketing, and relationship building experience, ideally with the Wholesale marketplace
- Experience managing or leading a team and/or a P&L
- Commercial in approach; goal-oriented but flexible enough to value different methods of achievement
- Strong influencing and communications skills; able to work across multiple areas both internally and externally
- Highly developed leadership skills that inspire teams to realize their potential
- Ability to challenge effectively both people and portfolio strategy with the ability to effect change where appropriate
- Ability to work in dynamic, rapidly changing environment, adapting to changing requirements and collaborating with a wide range of colleagues to quickly deliver solutions
- Comfort with analytical tools and technology
- Available to travel when required
