The Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health’s Regional Development team, located in Villanova, PA, is looking for an enthusiastic and creative professional to join our team as a Regional Development Director. The selected candidate will assist the National Director of Development with the planning, coordination and implementation of the fundraising efforts for the Devereux Centers in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York.
Essential functions and responsibilities:
- Works with the Vice President for Operations and Center Executive Directors in developing, planning, budgeting, and executing comprehensive development efforts, with special focus on major gift cultivations and solicitation of family members, individuals, philanthropists, corporations and foundations;
- Provides strong leadership to the Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York Advisory Boards and other volunteer committees under the purview of Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Pennsylvania Development;
- Expands and diversifies Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Northeast Regional donor base and prospect pipeline, and works closely with other team members to secure funding;
- Leads and mentors Development staff in areas such as annual giving, special events, donor acknowledgment and stewardship and in partnership with National Communications office on community and public relations;
- Monitors all donor information to provide and present statistical analysis to the National Director of Development and Vice Presidents for Operations; and
- Oversees industry trends, with foresight, to help best position Devereux to take advantage of new opportunities and shifts in donor behavior preference.
- Must have automobile in good working condition and satisfactory driving record.
- Position is hybrid; daily work remote from home, but expected to travel as needed for events and meetings.
Education
- Bachelor's degree required; Certified Fundraising Executive or relevant advanced degree preferred;
- Minimum of eight years of professional development experience, demonstrating progressive responsibility and ability to execute;
- Experience in leadership and mentorship of volunteers and staff required;
- Ability to construct, articulate and implement annual strategic development plan as well as analyze outcomes and make strategic shifts as needed;
- Tangible experience of having expanded and cultivated existing donor relationships over time;
- Experience in peer-to-peer fundraising and/or social media preferred;
- Successful candidate will have superior oral and written communication/interpersonal skills and possess persuasive communication competence;
- Ability to work both independently without close oversight, but also a team player who will productively engage with other at varying levels of seniority within and outside Devereux;
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks as well as successfully adjust priorities to meet Development department and organization’s needs;
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft applications, including Powerpoint, Excel, and Word and other presentation applications; Raisers Edge experience is a plus;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail with flexibility operating in a fluid environment with sensitivity to deadlines;
- Must possess professional demeanor and judgement, and be able to make quick and accurate decisions independently, and in accordance with established procedures.
