Skowhegan Savings Bank seeks an individual to join our team as a Regional Branch Manager. This is a full-time, on-site position and will oversee the Bingham, Jackman, Madison and Norridgewock branches.
Position Summary:
The Regional Branch Manager will provide leadership, support and coaching to the Bank’s branches within an assigned region in the areas of operations, personnel and development. This position will carry out initiatives in the branches as directed by the VP, Retail Customer Relations. This position will work in collaboration with the Regional VP of Community Banking, Community Bankers and VP, Retail Customer Relations to assist in the development and implementation of strategies to meet sales, deposit and customer relationship growth in the region. The Regional Branch Manager will conduct regularly scheduled branch visits to ensure adherence to bank policies, consistency in sales and marketing efforts, consistency in the customer experience, successful implementation of new products and services, and to maintain a strong relationship with branch employees.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Continuously evaluate region performance and recognize areas of strength or opportunities for improvement and establish relevant branch and regional goals with managers and teams.
- Regularly share and discuss branch, region and overall bank performance and reporting results with branch managers, who will then share it with their teams.
- Foster leadership growth of branch managers through emulation and education of the most effective and positive leadership techniques, actions and qualities.
- Develops and coach’s manager’s professional development in all areas and ensures training is continuously on-going, while assuring they are doing the same for their teams.
- Supervises and provides guidance and training to Branch Managers on resolving problems and exceptions.
- Establishes expectations of branch managers to independently lead their branch and attain accurate completion of all daily responsibility while adhering to all policies and procedures.
- Monitors all branches within region for proper physical and information security practices.
- Leads by example to promote delivery of exceptional internal and external customer experiences at all times.
- Ensures that relationship management for appropriate customers throughout region remains a priority for all branch teams, which may include initiating direct customer contact when necessary.
- Promotes and executes a sales culture and builds relationships with new and existing customers by identifying their needs and determining the appropriate products or services.
- Guides branch managers and their teams to promote and execute a sales culture and build relationships with new and existing customers by identifying their needs and determining the appropriate products or services, while continuously utilizing CRM software.
- Encourage branch teams to engage in community hosted or bank sponsored events.
- Attend and actively participate in periodic branch meetings at each location within the region.
- Embrace teamwork with each branch team, as well as within the region and the entire branch network.
- Assist managers in developing staff to the highest potential through training, promotions and recognition.
- Provides effective human relations management, including recruiting, hiring, salary administration, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, coaching, etc.
- Provides regular coaching and goal setting to direct reports, along with formal coaching sessions as required.
- Engages regularly with VP, Retail Customer Relations to provide branch and regional updates, as well as assist with bank initiatives and projects.
- In connection with Community Bankers and Commercial Lenders, develop community relationships and engage relationship prospects, may include attending various functions/networking opportunities.
- Reinforces the bank’s mission and values and commitment to integrity service by servicing as a culture agent, motivating employees to achieve higher standards and promoting a commitment to excellence in service, sales, knowledge/training and technology driven products and processes.
- Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Business, Banking, Sales or other related area and/or
- 4 – 6 years progressive branch operations or sales management experience in the banking or financial services industry.
- 3 – 5 years of management experience.
Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated knowledge of branch operations and sales and customer service.
- Excellent knowledge of bank products and services.
- Knowledge of consumer lending policies, procedures and operations
