We're urgently seeking a Referral / Authorization Coordinator who wants to work in an exciting and fast-paced environment to assist our clinics. Currently, we're hiring for our Canoga Park Offices (near Pierce College) and our Van Nuys Offices (near the Van Nuys Courthouse). Position Summary for our Referral / Authorization Coordinator:

  • Schedule: 8am-5pm, Mon-Fri
  • Starting Pay: $16.04 (for Long-term/Perm positions) or $18/hr. (for Temp/Contract, with potential for hiring positions, depending on experience)
  • Location(s): Canoga Park Offices (near Pierce College) and our Van Nuys Offices (near the Van Nuys Courthouse). Just specify which location you're interested in during the interview process.

A day in the life of our Referral / Authorization Coordinator:

  • Responsible for the tracking, coordination and communication of patient referrals
  • Ensures complete and accurate patient registration, including demographics and current insurance information
  • Handles requests from third party referral sources and provides relevant information and data
  • Serves as point person for multidisciplinary evaluation process to include patient scheduling, third party communications, and internal communications
  • Assembles information concerning patient’s clinical background and referral needs
  • Contacts insurance companies to ensure verification of benefits and prior authorization approval requirements are met
  • Reviews details and expectation of referral with the potential patient
  • Assists patients in problem solving potential issues related financial or social barriers (e.g., request interpreters as appropriate, transportation services, etc.)
  • Reminds patients of scheduled appointment
  • Communication with referral sources to ensure patient information/ registration is complete
  • Communicates patient updates between program and referring source

Qualifications/Requirements for our Referral / Authorization Coordinator position:

  • High School diploma required
  • Three years health care professional experience preferred
  • Experience with the usage of Electronic Medical Records Systems
  • CPR certification
  • Typing 35 wpm
  • Knowledge Office equipment use such as Computer, Scanner, Fax, Email, eFax, Telephone, electronic communication platforms and/or upload platforms
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish
  • Flexible hours
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a busy environment including heavy telephone duty.
  • Must provide proof of up-to-date COVID-19 vaccinations including recommended doses in the primary series AND booster dose when eligible.
