A Brief Overview
Stanford Health Care Main Campus is a 611-bed acute care hospital, with two adjacent Medical Office Buildings. Under the leadership of the Operations Supervisor, the Recycling Service Technician performs the collection, sorting, handling and disposal of municipal recycling and compost as well as specialty recycling streams including universal waste and donations. The technician performs customer service functions in daily coordination and completion of service. The technician manages tasks via a computer-based service management portal. The technician performs quality assessments as assigned. The technician follows standard precautions and all other infection prevention policies, safety practices and cleaning procedures, and performs various duties as assigned

What you will do
- Collects recyclable and compostable materials, universal waste, and specialty discards from clinical and non-clinical locations on an established route.
- Collects large recyclables and specialty discards from clinical and non-clinical locations on call.
- Sorts all collected materials into correct container on the waste dock.
- Performs visual quality assessments of waste collection spaces and sort quality, documents as directed.
- Delivers collection bins for office cleanout / declutter events. Coordinates bin delivery and collection, and sorts materials into correct waste stream.
- Receives and manages requests in a computer-based facilities service management portal. Logs labor time and work details.
- Coordinates collection schedule and logistics with customers as needed. Performs customer service tasks within the context of daily work.
- Cleans recycling bins and collection carts according to hospital procedure.
- Observes and practices standard precautions and hospital established safety regulations and procedures.
- Operates waste compactors.
- Performs other related duties related to waste reduction, sustainability, and materials management as requested, including staff outreach activities, movement of materials and equipment in hospital as requested by the Sustainability department.
- Recognizes and eliminates potential hazards in work environment.

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $24.86 - $28.01 per hourThe salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
