Under the direction of the Director of Recruitment and Outreach, the Recruitment Advisor is responsible for attracting, nurturing and enrolling a diverse and high achieving student population, while meeting goals and deadlines with a high degree of professionalism. The Recruitment Advisor is responsible for proactively managing their recruitment territory; identifying and developing new recruitment, community engagement and partnership opportunities.
Essential Job Functions:
- Actively recruit new students to Westcliff University, promoting and representing the mission, vision and values of the university at all times. Coordinate and implement recruitment strategies to attract new students within an assigned geographic territory.
- Responsible for comprehensive planning, scheduling and management of outreach calendar and territory. Organize calendar to ensure optimization of time and departmental resources when traveling to events and meetings
- Identify, contact and maintain relationships with prospective students throughout the inquiry, application, admitted, and enrollment phases. Coaching prospective applicants on the admissions process and creating urgency regarding deadlines and requirements. Process and review applications, as needed.
- Enter event inquiries into CRM in a timely fashion to ensure leads are promptly followed up with. Compile and enter admissions data in CRM. Issue reports upon request.
- Maintain extensive knowledge of the University’s academic programs and requirements. Advise prospective students in determining academic program fit.
- Develop rapport and working relationships with high school counselors, independent educational consultants, and admission officers at other colleges and universities.
- Conduct personal interviews and consultations with prospective students, both in-person and virtually.
- Host campus tours, presentations, and virtual events.
- This position may include travel, including evenings and weekends, to actively recruit new students. Travel includes attending college fairs, career fairs, visits to high schools and community colleges, recruitment tours, receptions, etc.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Dynamic person with successful sales or customer service experience who can network in the community to actively recruit students.
- Driven by meeting numbers and experience exceeding quotas, driving for results in a target-driven environment; competitive personality.
- Balancing strong closing skills and a drive to meet goals with a nurturing, student-centered approach.
- Adaptable and agile, with an ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Self-starter with robust time management skills
- Outstanding communication skills and ability to influence others internally and externally
- Solution-oriented, with the abilities to connect student needs with University offerings
- Data processing, reporting skills, and confidentiality. Computer skills and experience in Microsoft Office and Google Suite preferred
- Proven ability to take ownership of sales funnel: Strong follow up, organization skills, exceptional time-management, and problem solving
- Must be able to work with a team and also independently
- Access to a personal vehicle for transportation to and from businesses or events
Experience and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Relevant work experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree for highly qualified candidates.
- 3+ years in target-driven setting, such as admissions, customer service, sales, marketing, recruiting, or community outreach.
- Must possess excellent communication skills, and should be passionate, self-motivated, professional, personable, and goal-driven.
- Demonstrated consultative sales aptitude and commitment to professional development.
