 Ellis is seeking a Bi-Lingual (Spanish and English) Administrative Assistant to join our team to support our Jamaica Plain site. The site includes 6 early education classrooms, an indoor play-space, and an outdoor playground. Professionals with early childhood experience (former teachers) are encouraged to apply.

 The Administrative and Program Assistant will work closely with the Early Education Leadership Team to support teachers, provide superior customer service and communications with families, assist with the Ellis meal program, and will spend up to 50% of their time providing coverage in classrooms.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet families and communicate regularly with parent(s)/guardian(s) as requested via email
- Ensure child files are updated regularly in ProCare and in hard copy
- Manage reception area, phone system, and front door
- Maintain security of building, parents and guests through the sign in/out procedure
- Coordinate mail and deliveries
- Accept and distribute meals to classrooms and return meal supplies to where they are stored
- Provide classroom coverage as requested and support teachers with administrative support, including curriculum preparation

 QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates/Bachelor's degree preferred, or 2 - 5 years of experience
- Must have minimum of 12 credits in Early Childhood Education
- At least one year of work experience with early childhood age groups
- Proficient computer skills including knowledge of MS Office, Outlook, and data base experience
- Ability to organize, maintain and follow through with required tasks with initiative and thoroughness
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally
- Sound personal judgment, initiative and resourcefulness
- Warm, friendly, professional, and reliable
- Demonstrated ability to practice efficient time management.
- High preference for candidates familiar with ProCare, CCFA, Teaching Strategies Gold
- Ability to speak Spanish strongly preferred
