RECEIVING LEAD

ASSA ABLOY is a global leader in opening access solutions. Our Group focuses on the manufacturing of steel doors and frames within the commercial market catering to such industries as hospitality, healthcare, aerospace, defense, sporting venues and education.
This position will be on-site and is based out of our Ontario, California location.
What would you do as our Receiving Lead?
You will lead and work alongside department team members to perform various receiving functions in a safe, accurate, and timely manner.
You would also:
- Perform and/or oversee receiving activities to ensure product received is accurate in description, quantities, and free of damage.
- Unload trucks and move materials to proper storage areas in a safe and secure manner using a forklift, electric or manual pallet jack.
- Provide thorough and timely communication with internal and external customers.
- Coordinate Receiving and Shipping activities in a thorough and timely manner.
- Sort and inspect inbound shipments for damage or defects, record discrepancies and damage; promptly notify Carriers and/or Drivers of all problems.
- Transact and disposition incoming shipments. Ensuring all orders and items are accurately accounted for per documentation received.
- Accurately record quantities of material/product received into inventory system and keys receipt transactions.
- Provide training and/or guidance on processes and procedures to full-time and temporary Team Members in assigned area(s).
- Ensure processes and procedures are followed, maintained, and continuously improved in all inbound and other areas.
- Effectively investigate and respond to inquiries and/or complaints in a prompt and professional manner.
- Perform physical cycle counts daily, weekly, monthly, annually, or as required.
- Perform Shipping Department duties as needed.
- Conduct Safety Talks and/or lead safety initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local and corporate governance policies, regulations, and laws, AADG programs and policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct.
- Identify and proactively raise organizational issues and trends; recommend alternatives for improved effectiveness.
- Other duties as assigned.
The Skills and Experience you need:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 3+ years’ experience in a fast-paced warehouse/distribution environment
- Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as packing slips, customer orders and templates in English. Good communication skills both written and verbal. Ability to speak effectively before groups of people.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must know, understand, and utilize basic mathematical formulas.
- Ability to common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve practical problems.
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, email, and order processing software; Knowledge of ERP systems and processes.
- Excellent written/oral communication, organizational and technical service skills. Ability to work effectively and positively in a team environment under limited supervision.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include; close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Pay Rate: $27.43/hour
