Stand Up Forklift Expierence Required

Loads and unloads trucks, operates a standard forklift and related equipment and tools, and moves materials throughout the plant

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Unloads incoming materials from trailers using a forklift or other equipment or tools, checks quantities and item descriptions against purchasing order, and enter orders into the computer
• Organizes and/or stocks raw materials in the work area, follow departmental housekeeping requirements, and leaves the work environment and equipment clean at the end of shift
• Performs all duties according to established safety and efficiency procedures and maintains workstation in a neat, clean and orderly fashion
• Performs daily checks for maintenance and safe operation of the forklift
• Handle forklift responsibly; follow safety rules and conduct forklift inspections, immediately reporting any defects found.
• Get along and have a good working relationship with other employees.
• Follow all safety and company policies and procedures including maintaining good housekeeping, reporting any issues, accidents or incidents immediately; must complete safety training each month as assigned.
• Maintain exemplary attendance at all times. Must be able to work flexible hours and/or extended hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• GED or High School Diploma.
• Bedding experience helpful.
• Experience operating a forklift.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Basic math skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Operate industrial truck while seated for extended periods of time. Frequent standing, talking, hearing, walking; stooping and bending, twisting, turning, maintaining balance; occasional kneeling and reaching over the shoulder; also required simple grasping, pushing and pulling; must be able to lift up to 50 lbs; specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception and peripheral vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Pay: $18.00 per hour
