Receivables Clerk Job at Lawndale Christian Health Center
Position Summary
Reports to the Assistant Director of Patient Accounting. Responsible for performing day-to-day tasks to ensure timely billing and collections for services provided by LCHC providers.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities*
You may be asked to perform or assist with posting responsibilities such as:
- Post all payments from insurance carriers that LCHC received payments for in the patient management system
- Provide customer service to patients who receive bills from one of LCHC’s lab providers
- Perform other duties as directed by the Assistant Director of Patient Accounting
You may be asked to perform or assist with following up on insurance accounts receivables such as:
- Follow up on unpaid insurance claims making necessary corrections, adjustments to Accounts Receivable, and phone calls to insurance and patients when necessary
- Backup coverage of billing staff for routine department functions such as charge entry
- Provide customer service to patients as needed
- Perform other duties as directed by the Assistant Director of Patient Accounting

Required Skills or Abilities**
Typing and computer skills, including data entry and internet basics
Attention to detail
Ability to analyze data and respond accordingly
Experience and demonstrate abilities for working in a multi-cultural environment
Ability to strongly embrace and personify the mission of LCHC

Required Knowledge, Experience, or Licensure/Registration*
High School diploma and (3) or more years of administrative health care experience
Understanding of medical billing terminology
Working knowledge of LCHC’s practice management system is preferred
