Volunteers needed to assist the recreation staff in the implementation of programming and activities for the Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department.
Supervisors may be: Onsite Coordinator, Recreation Programs Coordinator, and Recreation Specialist

Requirements of Work
- Strong background in the specific program you are assisting in
- Have a genuine desire to be a positive role model and make the program fun for the participants
- Knowledge of standard safety practices and the ability and willingness to maintain a safe and positive learning environment
- Ability and willingness to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions
- Ability and willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff members, supervisor(s) and the public, and to deal with them in a courteous and tactful manner
- Must be reliable, enthusiastic, and able to motivate and inspire participants
- Ability and willingness to supervise and maintain control of participants in a group and/or 1-on-1 setting

While performing the duties, the volunteer may be required to stand, sit, talk, hear, read and write. This position frequently requires an employee to walk or bend. He/she may periodically need to reach, stoop, crouch, or kneel. The volunteer may be asked to clean, pick up, put away, and lift/carry and/or move equipment weighing approximately 10 to 50 pounds. You may be outside or inside, depending on program.
Specific vision requirements may include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.
