Ranch Hand / Property Maintenance Job at Double Donkey Ranch
Looking for a hard-working, independent problem-solver to work on a 12-acre hobby ranch/farm. Must possess a “do what needs to be done" attitude and be ready to stay busy and have a variety of responsibilities. This individual will ideally have farming and/or ranch experience, a background in basic construction and/or property management and landscaping. This position requires an individual with basic carpentry skills who can follow directions well and work independently. We are looking for someone with a passion for animals, an interest in land and property management, and plenty of hard work.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Feed/water for a variety of animals twice daily.
- Poop removal and pressure washing pens, stables, stalls, cages, etc.
- Animal care - feet cleaning, brushing, meds when necessary
- Drive vehicle to pick up supplies and livestock
- Repair fencing and corrals.
- Maintain buildings and equipment
- General upkeep
- Everything is to stay tidy at all times
Ongoing Responsibilities:
- Landscaping: mowing, weeding, blowing
- Window cleaning
- Trash & recycle
- Pressure washing
- Deep cleaning the shop
- Painting
- Field maintenance
- Other tasks based on experience and season
If you can: tow a trailer, load hay properly, haul animals, feed them twice daily, keep water filled and clean, stay on top of cleaning pens and stables (poop scooping and pressure washing daily). cleaning feet, have experience trimming or a desire to learn. Must be comfortable using a small tractor for a variety of tasks, ride a 4-wheeler.
Must be capable of keeping a clean shop and a tidy ranch. Have the skills to fix things that break (with and without a motor), have fence building skills, be comfortable constructing and maintaining outbuildings. Must take pride in getting the job done right, be willing to do whatever is needed from landscaping, tending to animals, small construction projects, proactively fixing issues as they arise, handling maintenance around the ranch.
Please live in Boise proper, East Boise, out Highway 21 towards Idaho City or out I-84 towards Mountain Home. Ranch is in East Boise, near Lucky Peak State Park.
Pay DOE - Can be hourly or salary with ability to earn paid time off

Pay: $16.00 - $28.00 per hour
