Radiation Therapist - $5k sign on & relocation assistance available!
Lewiston, Idaho

Pay range: $62k to $82k depending on experience level

Schedule: 7:30pm-8:00am or 4:30am-5:00pm

Job duties assigned to Radiation Therapist:

• Setting up patients properly for radiation treatment, explaining the treatment and how the patient can make sure treatment is carried out accurately
• Responsible for daily warm-up of treatment machine and entering information in the warm-up log book. Any variations from parameters set should be reported to the Senior Therapist
• Responsible to check simulator for proper operation, report any problems that would interfere with proper operation to the Chief Radiation Therapist
• Properly positioning patient for simulation of treatment area using immobilization devices as necessary to ensure proper position of patient
• Producing acceptable radiographs for simulation
• Tattooing the patient's treatment area safely when applicable
• Photographing the patient's treatment area and face to be placed in the patient's chart
• Maintaining audio and visual contact with patients at all times
• Scheduling the patient for daily treatment
• Explaining to the patient what adverse reactions might occur during treatment course - notify the RN or Radiation Oncologist of patient's adverse reaction when necessary
• Verifying weekly weight check
• Performing portal localization films once a week or as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist
• Ensuring linen is stocked and if not, call Linen Services to have needed supply delivered
• Keeping treatment and simulation rooms neat, orderly and stocked with the necessary supplies
• Informing Chief Radiation Therapist of items that need to be ordered

Radiation Therapist must haves:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Current BLS Certification
• Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists as a Radiation Therapist
• Continuing education as prescribed by JCAHO and A.R.R.T
