R&D Technician Job at John Galt Staffing
We are in need of a R&D Technician to support a manufacturing specialist in medical devices, robotics, and industrial optics. Candidates should have experience working with electrical, mechanical, or electro-mechanical assemblies within an R&D or prototyping setting. Candidates must be mechanically inclined to build from designs, and be comfortable with maintenance of equipment and shop. Ideally, candidates are comfortable working in a small company environment.
Required for the R&D Technician:
- Skilled at assembly and debugging miniature and micro assemblies
- Ability to work under a microscope and other magnification devices.
- Ability to safely operate in a lab environment with hand tools and soft material cutting power tools while actively supporting a culture of safety.
- Skilled with inspection equipment (Ability to perform incoming inspection).
- 3D Printing experience; technologies and operation of desktop printers.
- Frequently required to reach, pull, and/or employ fine motor skills during the assembly, servicing, and maintenance of electromechanical devices.
- Frequently required to operate tools/machinery that use hand and/or foot controls (drills, saws, test equipment, microscopes, etc).
- Frequently required to lift, carry, or otherwise move up to 50 lbs while working with medical equipment.
- Strong PC skills; MS Windows and Office suite, Google Suite
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Preferred for the R&D Technician:
- CAD experience with SolidWorks or OnShape.
- Experience with optics/lasers/endoscopes.
- Experience with medical devices.
Education Requirements for the R&D Technician:
- High School Diploma or equivalent certification and at least 5 years of experience in an R&D role in electro-mechanical, mechanical, or medical devices.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
