A family in Seattle’s Queen Anne neighborhood is looking for a wonderful nanny for their boys, ages 4 and 6. Paramount to the position is their children’s comfort and trust in sharing their lives and playtime with the nanny. They enjoy building with Legos, playing with cars, riding their bikes, and playing at the park. Their oldest son is a soccer enthusiast, and their youngest son is just starting to enjoy sports. In the summer, they enjoy visiting their family home in Lake Chelan. We love to go on hikes to explore nature. This winter, they are transitioning into a ski family, which is exciting for them all. You can find them playing board games or cooking in the kitchen as a family. They have a sweet pup, Maddie, a chocolate lab, who is 2!

They believe in developing strong integrity and character at a young age. Being respectful, honest, and kind and also doing the right thing is at the top of their list when I asked this family about their family values.

ABOUT THE NANNY: Given the children are in kindergarten and pre-school, the nanny will need to shuttle their oldest from school in the family-provided car. If you are a fan of doing art projects, this job is for you - the more glue and tape, the better! They need a confident, calm nanny with experience with elementary school children. The candidate will need to prepare snacks, go on an outing - weather permitting, or create a fun activity or play a game at home. Bonus points for completing the children’s laundry once per week. This family is looking for someone long-term and treats the nanny as part of the family while having a healthy demarcation between the roles of employer/employee. Their current nanny is sad to leave this family though this family needs fewer hours now, and their nanny needs full-time hours.

RATE: $35 +/- per hour, depending on experience.

HOURS: 1:30p to 5:30p, Monday - Thursday, 16 hours per week.

START DATE: As soon as the right candidate is found.

QUALIFICATIONS:

-Clean background check

-Child CPR/First Aid certified and or willing to do so before the start date

-Clean driving record

-2 years min childcare experience with references

-Will offer this family the best and complete care for their boys with love, nourishment, and guidance; and make sure the health, well-being, education, and safety of their children are never jeopardized

-Will support children by providing physical, social, emotional, creative, and intellectual play to ensure proper development

-Always maintain good, open, and honest communication with parents

-Will be attentive to children's needs

-Punctual and reliable
