Quantitative Analyst in GAC Savannah


Unique Skills:

Candidate with experience collecting and performing analysis on financial data and general data used in the Service Centers preferred. Experience with statistical analysis software is preferred.


Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mathematics (or other quantitative field), and/or Business/Economics or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 3 years related experience to include experience in quantitative analysis and data modeling/visualization. Master's Degree preferred. Master’s Degree in a related field may offset two (2) years of experience.

Position Purpose:

Utilizing the strategic perspective of the aviation aftermarket, develops analytical tools and models for the business. Models and tools developed will have a direct and immediate impact on long-term brand reputation (customer satisfaction, product availability/pricing), financial performance (labor, parts, and services revenue/margin), and resource distribution (facilities expansion, employee hiring, inventory investment, etc.).

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
  • With oversight develop predictive/explanatory models and simulations for the aviation aftermarket business units .

  • Analyze and model data for the operational business units for current opportunities and threats and for developing forecasts .

  • Analyze data on existing pricing structure and develop model-based metrics for future pricing structures .

  • Identify and analyze alternative data-sets and incorporate into existing or future models .

  • Performs on-going analysis and updating of models and develops model forecasts for business units .

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:
  • Experience with econometric methods and stochastic processes, a plus

    Knowledge/Basic Experience with advanced machine learning techniques; modeling, back-testing, simulation; data mining and data analysis, with special focus on large-scale data-sets (structured and unstructured)

    Ability to create new models from a blank canvas

    Ability to explain complex mathematical and algorithmic concepts to broad audiences

    Ability to utilize critical thinking to independently connect data from multiple business units

    Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize time-sensitivity.
