KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct supervision of about 12 hourly quality technicians; including planning, staffing, and day-to-day manufacturing operations

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s in related discipline required, Master’s preferred Quality and/or Lean Certifications a plus 5+ years of relevant work experiences 3+ years of experience within a unionized, manufacturing environment

QUALIFICATIONS:

Excellent communication skills; candidate must be comfortable providing briefings at all levels of management and effective in utilizing non-verbal communication in interacting with external suppliers.

Ability to influence decisions downstream and upstream Solid understanding of lean principles to effectively create, implement and monitor process improvement initiatives Excellent project management skills and the ability to effectively lead and team with multiple functional groups to reach a common objective.

Ability to work in a self-directed manner Comprehensive knowledge of MS Office Applications

Must have shift flexibility; second shift role Work closely with the operations team to ensure our manufacturing process meets or surpasses the required internal quality KPIs and specifications as well as any applicable government regulations

Work closely with suppliers to ensure the products or services rendered meets or surpasses the required internal quality KPIs and specifications as well as any applicable external and government regulations

Spearhead the analysis and investigation of faulty customer and supplier products and services as well as driving solution plans to completion by working with a cross-functional team including supplier quality, product engineering, sustaining engineering, research engineering, and operations.

Plan and conduct work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, and adaptation or modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria Provide support in the analysis and investigation of faulty coils and drive solution plans to completion by working with a cross-functional team of supplier quality, sustaining engineering, research engineering, and operations.

Lead department and site continuous improvement initiatives.

Utilize the Carrier Excellence (CX) operating system to propose and implement changes to existing processes to streamline and improve overall performance while maintaining cost controls, creating cost-effective use of resources, and ensuring quality
