Quality Review Coordinator, Cash Posting and Customer Services

40 hours per week, day shift

JOB SUMMARY: Assures maximum collections and reimbursement outcomes by performing account auditing functions that provide management with tools and information that assists with measuring staff productivity, efficiency and effectiveness. Provides specific training and feedback to staff as directed by management to ensure compliance with established guidelines.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or Healthcare Administration preferred. Experience in revenue cycle, financial counseling, collections, accounting or customer service within a hospital or physician-based organization preferred. Knowledge of payment and reimbursement methodologies associated with Medicare, Medicaid, State Agency, Managed Care and Indemnity Insurance Plans preferred. Prior background and experience in data collection and analysis preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Demonstrates willingness to assist department management with the completion of special projects and specific daily tasks to support the department’s productivity and efficiency.
  • Demonstrates commitment to the hospital/department’s financial policies and collection goals.
  • Maintains knowledge and understanding of software functionality and executes that knowledge to assure that correct registration/billing takes place on accounts managed by department staff.
  • Exhibits knowledge and understanding relevant to all insurance types while performing auditing tasks.
  • Provides job specific training to staff to improve efficiencies as directed by management and function as WakeOne Super User.
  • Performs registration duties when patient volumes require additional manpower.
  • Performs auditing of charges during reconciliation process and the management of relevant work queues.
  • Performs referral coordination services to assist patients in connecting with specialty services.
  • Completes scheduling of patients for specified clinics.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent oral, written, listening, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills with a thorough knowledge of Excel
  • Strong analytical and math skills with high attention to details
  • Developed knowledge and understanding of medical terminology
  • Working knowledge and understanding of trial balance, accounts receivable and financial statements for collections purposes
  • Ability to read, comprehend and execute written instructions
  • Working knowledge of rules and guidelines that govern Medicaid and State Agency eligibility and COBRA
