This position is responsible for managing and coaching a team of associates to meet departmental goals in Quality, Service, Cost and Safety. The person in this role will need to be able to show strong leadership, the ability to address budgetary objectives and the desire to equip their team with the tools needed for success. The Quality Manager will ensure that daily departmental goals are met using a People First philosophy to achieve established objectives in Safety, Service, Quality, and Cost.

The Quality Manager position is located in Booneville, MS.

You’ll be excited about this opportunity because you will....

  • Understanding and conveying Key Performance Indicators (KPI), as well as understanding the downstream consequences of missed KPIs
  • Communicate effectively, professionally, and confidently with areas of Production, Distribution Centers (DCs) and Hubs, Care Centers, and Merchants
  • Understanding the QA processes for the factory and establishing a rapport with the production team and line staff
  • Overseeing the execution of daily furniture in-line and final inspections in accordance with Williams-Sonoma, Inc. (WSI) procedures
  • Referencing required control samples or documents (Product Data Sheet (PDS) or weekly production schedule) as required
  • Using Microsoft Office programs to create reports, analyzing and generating communications to management
  • Supporting the Operations Manager with determining staffing levels for departmental functions
  • Promoting safety awareness and cultivating the safety culture throughout the company. Ensuring and maintaining a clean and safe work environment; communicating safety topics and conducting safety audits
  • Ensuring availability of materials (supplies) and resources to all associates on the team, so they can perform their duties with maximum efficiency and minimal downtime
  • Controlling and maintaining steady workflow on the floor by ensuring all functions within the department are staffed with adequate headcount - partnering with Operations Manager by assigning and transferring associates by skillset to balance the flow if necessary
  • Ensuring downtime issues including systematic and mechanical are addressed as soon as they arise through the correct channels
  • Adopting and endorsing continuous improvement concepts where applicable
  • Assisting in root cause analysis on issues pertaining to safety, service, quality, cost
  • Developing and implementing solutions to address workflow and efficiency issues, basic time studies and line balancing
  • Coordinating projects and associated timelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • At least 8 years of proven successful leadership work experience in quality for upper end upholstered furniture
  • Understanding furniture quality control processes and systems with a strong management or leadership background
  • Working knowledge of all operations through production: Fabric Inspection, Cutting, Sewing, Upholstery, Packing and Product Development
  • Able to read and understand engineering drawings, sewing notes, and work instructions
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills and leadership capabilities including ability to train QA inspectors and drive the performance of supervisors and leads
  • Must be a team player, have initiative, work under high pressure, and solve complex issues
  • Systems savvy, with proven experience interacting with relevant systems and adopting a data-driven approach
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Ability to lead from the front lines and be hands on (job has very little desk time)

We prefer some of these qualities as well….

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or related industry
  • At least 6 years of work experience in high volume distribution or manufacturing environment
  • Lean/Six Sigma Experience
  • Bi-lingual, English and Spanish
