Quality Assurance Manager
The QA Manager is responsible for management of quality, safety, sanitation and testing to ensure that the product and its manufacturing processes meet company quality and safety standards.
Job Qualifications:
- Coaches and develops staff in a manner which results in qualified, productive, and satisfied employees who are able to successfully respond to changing customer needs
- Facilitates regular staff meetings to provide information and review and address issues or concerns (MRR’s, customer complaints, action forms, new specifications, etc.)
- Identifies and provides training and coaching opportunities
- Provides ongoing performance management and maintains applicable documentation
- Develops, with staff, objectives for quality and product improvement
- Understands and applies policies and procedures fairly and consistently
· Comply with all GMP and Food Safety guidelines
· Follow plant safety rules and wear appropriate safety equipment
· Attend all plant, Quality and Safety Trainings, as required
· Laboratory duties with respect to quality:
o Moisture analysis
o pH
o Particle size distribution
o Preparing and maintaining samples for testing and retains, etc., which are used as part of Quality Control and Release Testing
· Record keeping throughout the facility
· Taking ATP swabs for verification of cleanliness
· Oversee or perform and monitor sanitation activities in and around the plant
o Routine plant inspections for cleanliness
· Observe and report quality issues throughout the facility
· GMP verification and training
o Assist in verifying monthly GMP audit forms
· Observe proper allergen storage of ingredients and finished products
· Responsible for the management of pest control activities and is appointed to deal with the outsourced contractor
· Involved in all quality inspections and audits
· Member of HACCP Team
o Directly involved in developing all HACCP plans
· Food Safety Team Leader
- Manages the Documentation process to ensure the documentation is in compliance with customer expectations, OSHA, EPA, DNR, DOT, USDA and ISO 9001 requirements
- Acts as Management Representative for all regulatory agencies and ISO 9001
- Acts as Quality liaison with current and prospective customers to develop, verify and validate products and processes
- Interacts with customers to resolve problems, offer alternatives and provide information
- Conducts presentations, tours and on-site customer visits
- Responsible for all aspects of Kosher, Halal, HACCP and any other third-party certifications that must be maintained
EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE REQUIRED:
· Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering field
· 5+ years’ experience in Quality Assurance in a manufacturing environment
· Advanced knowledge in Quality systems and practices in a food environment preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
