POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Serves as a Filter Tester who operates various types of Testing Equipment to locate leaks, damages, and defects in filter products.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operates a photometer, particle counters and various other Test Instruments to verify integrity and performance of Filter Products.
- Makes determination of acceptability for tested products.
- Carefully places filters onto the test fixtures.
- Occasionally uses measuring tape, and various hand tools.
- Reads and interprets bar codes to determine proper test to run for each type of product.
- Enters bar code information and testing results into the computer.
- Adds testing solution to the humidifier/generator to ensure testing is performed properly.
- Troubleshoots problems with faulty photometers and particle counters. Determines whether machines should be repaired or replaced.
- May perform patching and product repair work as needed.
- May train and develop other Test Personnel.
- Locates all leaks and defects in Filter Products.
- Determines acceptability of Filter products
- Ensures test equipment is functioning properly at all times.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Measuring skill to 1/32 inch.- Ability to read and interpret order numbers and bar code information.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
6 months experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:
License or certificates in any of the above mentioned trade skills are beneficial
SPECIAL SKILLS:.
Ability to read and interpret procedures and drawing specifications.- Basic math skills to compute quantities and percentages

- Safety glasses are required at all times to protect against dust and particles.
- Protective clothing must be worn at all times to protect against injury which may include cut resistant gloves, sleeves, aprons and gowns.
- Closed toe shoes and long pants are required. Sleeveless shirts are prohibited in the warehouse and production areas
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Ability to lift and carry filters and boards that weigh up to 40 pounds from one location to another and rotate the filters to work on the opposite side.
- Requires the manual dexterity to be able to operate the testing machines, place tape on holes, and enter numbers into the computer.
- Listens for audible indicators of the particle counter to identify location of the leaks.
- Moves arm up and down and from side to side to operate testing machines.
- Stands or sits for long periods of time at a work table.
- Walks to transfer frames to the next station.
- Bends to pick up test fixtures and filters.
