There is an exciting opportunity to join the site Quality and Food Safety Team in the South Dakota - Royal Canin Pet Food Manufacturing Facility within the Quality & Food Safety function as the Q&FS Specialist. The purpose of this role is to maintain, design and improve the site Quality Management System to comply with the Mars Global Quality Standards.

What are we looking for?

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree Food Science, Animal Science, Diary, Meat, Poultry, Grain, Science Biology, Chemistry, or equivalent
Experience in a Food Manufacturing environment working in Quality, Food Safety, Engineering and/or Product/Process development
Knowledge of Food Safety & Quality Assurance Hygiene programs such as HACCP, GMP and Internal Audit Inspections/ISO 22000 requirements
Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree or,
Experience with incident management and standards implementation and completing internal and external audits
Food/petfood background,
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), Good Laboratory Practices, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point Systems (HACCP), ISO 22000, Regulatory Guidelines, Sensory,
Ability and aptitude to work in a Manufacturing, and/or Distribution environment.

What will be your key responsibilities?

Be onsite and on the production floor daily to support the Operation Team with any Product Related Incidents and general Quality and Food Safety Inspections.
Conduct daily GMP Inspections and Internal Audits for the factory.
Support Operations with Incident Management, Troubleshooting and conduct Food Safety risk assessments as part of Hold and Release process.
Assisting the Q&FS team during new product launches and significant process and recipe changes while performing conformance checks.
Assisting to develop and implement technical and procedural control measures in relation to the Mars Global Quality Standards (HACCP, GMP, HRCI, FSMS, Food Defense)
