Overview:
The purpose of the Quality Engineer is to maintain the New Jersey plant’s ISO certification, drive continuous quality improvements, and both product and process management. The Quality Engineer will develop and maintain the Preventive Maintenance Program for the Parsippany, NJ plant. The Quality Engineer works under the general supervision of the Operations Manager and will perform a variety of moderate to complex tasks and functional activity.

Responsibilities:
  • Quality and process management leader for the entire site
  • Thorough understanding of quality objectives, customer specifications and processing capabilities of all the equipment in the Parsippany facility
  • Maintain the ISO quality system and serve as the primary lead for NJ ISO process
  • Analyze current quality assessment techniques for inconsistencies and redundancy
  • Maintain accurate data, identify trends by defect type, supplier and work center. Lead quality root case analysis and improvement process
  • Lead quality related responsibilities in Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 MDI Meetings
  • Maintain previous responsibilities around Alumet site divisional quality data reporting and Alumet quality meetings
  • Collaborate with resources to make reasonable decisions regarding raw material meeting quality expectations in order to produce finished goods that meet customer specifications
  • Manage material non-conformance process in Compu Source System and on shop floor
  • Communicated effectively with internal stakeholders, customers (when needed), and raw material suppliers to resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Thoroughly understand customer expectations for our products, and develop process and product specifications
  • Evaluate and monitor internal production processes to ensure they meet process engineering / production specifications
  • Develop and maintain product manufacturing work instructions for the shop floor and maintain / update quality specifications based on customer requirements

Qualifications:
  • Technical Engineering Degree preferred or equivalent Mechanical/Laboratory/Quality experience
  • At least five years Technical/Quality preferred
  • Extensive experience in the auditing process
  • Strong platform skills and the ability to present oral briefings to senior management
  • Computer literate with knowledge of relevant software applications including MS Office
  • Proven experience with ISO and quality improvement knowledge
