Our company supports the growth and future of the Aerospace industry and is looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to join our leadership team.

Position Overview:

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for ensuring the Company's Quality Management System is maintained and meets the requirements related to the Company's approved AS9100 accreditation. Ensures products and customer service remain superior in the processing and machining industry. Have a full understanding of internal policies and procedures regarding the Quality Management System. You will continuously assess the effectiveness and suitability of the Quality Management System and recommend, implement, and monitor continuous improvement initiatives.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Is the primary contact as the AS9100 and NADCAP Quality Representative
  • Is the primary liaison with external parties on matters that pertain to the quality system
  • Monitors and manages the performance of internal and external audits including the quality system, customer surveys, approvals, control of subcontractors and suppliers, as needed
  • Develops and reports on Quality metrics for OTD, FPY, COPQ and Customer Quality Performance
  • Responsible for overseeing customer complaints and rejections, providing expertise in determining the root cause and taking the appropriate corrective action, as needed
  • Ensures employees receive proper training related to procedures, policies, work instruction, and customer specifications to be successful
  • Organizes, promotes, and improves companywide quality standards
  • Creates, manages, and updates the Quality Management System and procedures
  • Manages the department to ensure timely, effective, and efficient implementation of quality processes, systems, and procedures, as needed
  • Determines and documents areas, policies, or procedures in need of improvement; creates a plan of action and implements it
  • Analyzes non-conformities; determines root cause and if corrective/preventive action are required based on trend data
  • Implements changes as required by AS9100 requirements as defined in the Company's Quality Assurance Manual and maintains the AS9100 approved Quality Management System
  • Manages team members through performance appraisals, corrective actions, continual feedback, counseling, coaching, training, and development
  • Adheres to company Quality and Safety standards, policies, and procedures always
  • Always maintains security and confidentiality of all files
  • Holds employees accountable to rules, policies, procedures, and metrics
  • Serves as the technical lead as needed
  • Directs the day-to-day activity including work schedules, workflow, work assignments, etc.
  • Responsible for employee development including promotions, compensation, training, feedback, evaluations, etc.
  • Delegates work effectively and as needed
  • Effectively communicates all scheduling needs and pertinent business information to employees and staff
  • Effectively communicates all pertinent information to staff
  • Oversees compliance (safety, quality, company) and housekeeping
  • Helps to ensure employees have all the necessary tools and support
  • Actively looks for and recommends continuous improvement opportunities
  • Sets departmental vision and goals to support company vision, goals, and values


Competencies:

  • Advanced knowledge, understanding, and application of Quality Assurance Management Systems (AS9100) and concepts, practices, and procedures related to aerospace and manufacturing

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • GD&T Terminology and Symbols
  • Ten years of experience in QC/QA department
  • Five years of experience as a Supervisor or Manager of a Quality department
  • Experience in managing and maintaining an AS9100 Quality System


Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as Quality Manager, preferably in the aerospace/manufacturing industry
  • Experience in Continuous Improvement project management


Additional eligibility qualifications:

  • Must have an acceptable criminal history background check
  • Must pass a drug test


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversees Quality Control Department, which includes FAI, QA Techs, etc.


Travel Requirements:

  • Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings, training, or conferences, and may require overnight stays

This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)., Non-U.S. persons selected must meet eligibility requirements for access to export-restricted information. The ITAR/EAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
