You will be responsible for:

• Leads the company’s food safety program
• Coordinate the Quality, Food Safety and Sanitation procedures at Owatonna and Mason City
• Identify Food Safety areas for improvement and risks across the operation
• Coordinate the development of product specifications and process for measurement and tracking of quality
• Ensure that products meet Bushel Boy’s quality specifications
• Manage the GFSI program and audits
• Coordinate Food Safety, GMP and GAP training
• Participate and lead continuous improvement projects
• Assist in new product trials and launches
• Assist with other initiatives as needed

Things you will need:

• Demonstrated skill and proficiency with Windows-based computer applications and other software, and office equipment.
• Uses judgment to make decisions, and to recommend solutions.
• Ability to listen and communicate clearly, fluently and diplomatically, orally and in writing in the English language. Spanish language skills are beneficial.
• Ability to maintain excellent interpersonal and cooperative relationships while participating in sectional and cross-functional groups and teams involving management, staff, clients and 3rd parties.
• Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and accurately follow through on work activities with time constraints and interruptions to meet deadlines.
• Demonstrates a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
• Ability to work effectively and respectfully with staff, managers, executives, and others to garner cooperation and maintain service excellence.
• Ability to effectively balance multiple projects and workload, in a continuously changing environment.
• Ability to generate goodwill for the organization and its management among staff, clients, suppliers, regulatory bodies, and the general community.
• Ability to meet the physical and cognitive requirements of the essential job functions.
• BS Degree, preferably in Plant / Food Science or related
• 3+ years’ experience in food and/or horticulture related field
• HACCP experience (certification preferred)
• Experience in training
• Bi-Lingual (English / Spanish) preferred
