Position Objective:
Responsible for providing factual information regarding conformance to specification of manufactured product and providing guidance to employees with regard to company methods and procedures, and assistance to Quality Engineering.
- Works with project engineering to prioritize work requests and align completing timelines with needs. Will participate in decisions on work direction based on schedule needs.
- Designs, documents, and implements inspection fixturing and methodology including gage studies and measurements uncertainty studies as required. (MSA’s)
- Performs evaluations of new and transferred products including first article inspections, process capability studies, process validations, qualification studies utilizing mintab.
- Programs automated inspection tools including CMM/WMM
- Assists manufacturing, mold build, and EDC departments with special studies and problem-solving
- Performs other duties and assumes accountabilities as apparent or as delegated, including mutually agreed upon objectives.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
- Demonstrate surface plate set-up ability and use of related tools.
- Ability and skill to use all quality measurement hand tools.
- Knowledge of the proper maintenance and repair of hand tools.
- Basic computer skills
- Basic understanding of the MNR&P LAN and security.
- Good understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T skills.
- Basic training in use and interpretation of SPC and SQC.
- Ability to program machines such as CNC vision system and CMM, etc.
- Knowledge of calibration system and procedures.
