Summary:
Under the direction of the Quality Assurance Supervisor, the Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing and analyzing various tests related to production at the Green Bay facility.
Job Duties:
The list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Chemical testing of finished products including fat, moisture, pH, TA, Salt, among others. Also included are organoleptic and functionality evaluations.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively relay results of above tests to Operations personnel to keep production running smoothly.
  • Excellent ability to multi-task, with a proficiency for managing multiple test types simultaneously.
  • Maintain inventory and place orders for all testing supplies.
  • Complete accurate and detailed test result records.
  • Record results in the internal system to allow Quality staff to generate COA. Act as backup for the Quality team to generate COA documents for customers.
  • Identify and communicate all out of specification test results. This may include placing products on hold that do not meet specifications.
  • Cross-train to be back up for Quality Assurance Technician (as needed),
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in a science related field from a two-year college or technical school
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a related role
  • Analytical background in cheese processing or similar preferred
  • Certification from an accredited Lab Course to meet SQF (Safe Quality Food) and FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act) is preferred
  • Effective with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to read and comprehend documents such as product specifications, test results, laboratory manuals, etc.
  • Ability to write standard documentation
  • Ability to effectively present information to other employees in the organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals
