Job Purpose:

Responsible for entering POs into ERP system, maintaining vendor files, and assisting sourcing new suppliers.

Examples of Essential Functions:

• Enter Purchase orders
• Maintain vendor files.
• Track orders and ensure timely delivery
• Update internal databases with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, discounts)
• Maintain updated records of invoices and contracts
• Maintain strong work relationships with vendors
• Follow up with suppliers, as needed to confirm or change orders
• Expedite purchase orders as required
• Assist with inventory control to review, reduce and eliminate excess and obsolete inventory.
• Evaluate offers from vendors and negotiate better prices
• Liaise with receiving staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition
• Compare product deliveries with issued purchase orders and contact vendors when there are discrepancies
• Complete any tasks as assigned

Qualifications Guidelines

• Experience/Training/Education:

Required: A Bachelor's degree in a related and 1 year related experience, or 5 years of related buying experience and/or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education with comparable knowledge, skills and abilities.

Desirable: Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and vendors.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Knowledge fo purchasing practices and procedures.

Must have excellent verbal and written skills as well as strong interpersonal skills.

Knowledge in reviewing blue prints and spec requirments.

Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point.

Must be able to multitask and work effectively with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Physical and Environmental Elements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee generally works indoors within the office and manufacturing areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to fnger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Special Requirements/Certification (travel, extended hours, etc.):

Some overtime may be required, including weekends.

The pay range represents the low and high end of the salary range we reasonably expect to pay for this position at the time of posting. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, education, skills, qualifications, performance, and business or organizational needs. Pay Range: $18 to $25/hour
