The Purchasing Agent responsible for maintaining a continuous supply of goods and services necessary to support product development, manufacturing engineering, product manufacturing and facilities.

The compensation range for the Purchasing Agent is $78,000 - $90,000 annually.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Leads selection process of qualified suppliers of auto injector components and process consumables
- Provides Request for Quotes (RFQs) with suppliers for one time purchase orders or continuous purchase orders.
- Negotiates pricing with industry suppliers to reduce the cost of goods and overhead.
- Provides 12 month rolling forecasts and quarterly, monthly and one time purchase orders with component and consumables suppliers
- Engages with functional support organizations such as Supplier Quality, Quality Assurance, Accounting & Compliance, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Development and Manufacturing Operations.
- Participate in project budget and schedule discussions with Project Management, Manufacturing Operations and Accounting & Compliance.
- Resolve supplier service and quality issues to meet manufacturing requirements
- Ability to handle several projects and programs simultaneously and drive projects to completion.
- Review Purchase requests for accuracy and compliance with Government Agency requirements; BARDA, Department of Defense (DOD) and others.
- Utilize ERP system for component planning, purchasing and inventory tracking.
- Works with Receiving to resolve shipping and COC discrepancies.
- Other duties as required and necessary to ensure the success of the organization.
Job Qualifications
Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Purchasing functions and how they relate to manufacturing and engineering
- ERP planning, scheduling and purchasing experience.
- Understanding of Medical Device QSR and ISO 13485 requirements as it relates to suppliers, supplied products, purchasing, deviations and CAPAs.
- Ability to consistently promote, support, work, and act in a manner in support of Aktiv’s mission, vision and values
- Ability to recognize problems or process improvement opportunities and take prompt action to resolve them.
- Ability to effectively manages one’s time and resources to ensure that work is completed efficiently.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with team members to ensure superior results and team success.
- Ability to seamlessly work with suppliers and understanding of the whole procure to pay process.
Education and Experience:
- An Associate degree in Business, Finance, Purchasing or Supply Chain Management is highly preferred
- 5 to 7 years of sourcing and procurement experience is required.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year to year basis
- Experience in sourcing and procurement in a fast-growing organization is preferred.
