    Summary of Position
   
 
   
    The person filling this position works under the director of Continuing Education to instruct and supervise students in the classroom, laboratory, and clinical area. This job performs instructional work and must be knowledgeable in the subject area being taught. The position will know procedures to achieve a positive learning environment for students and create a favorable work environment for the Continuing Education department.
   
 
  
    Minimum Required Education
   
 
   - An Associate Degree in Applied Science, Paramedic Technology preferred.
- Minimum of EMT-Basic certification in Texas, and/or NREMT Basic Certification w/privileges to Practice in Texas with EMT-Intermediate or higher certification preferred.
- Current Instructor Certification is preferred (EMS, Fire or Army Basic.)
- CTC Form-Prior Occupational Experience—Career/Technical Education Faculty
    Minimum Required Experience
   
 
   - Minimum 1 year experience as EMT Basic.
- Minimum of 2 years full time experience for EMS Provider or an emergency department or critical care setting.
    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
   
 
   - Knowledge of Texas Department of State Health Services and NREMT rules and regulations related to EMT-Basic skills.
- Knowledge of EMT Basic skills necessary for certification in Texas and NREMT.
- Guide and evaluate students in the skills area.
- Function as a member of a teaching team, led by a Program director/Coordinator/Lead Instructor.
- Ability to communicate with students, faculty, agency personnel and college personnel.
- Flexible, dependable – able to work with students enrolled in Emergency Technology Programs.
- Demonstrate competence in all basic areas of EMT and EMT-Paramedic Pre-hospital care.
- Capable through academic preparation, training and experience to assist with courses or topics to which assigned.
- Negative Background Check and Drug Screen
