Excelsior Family Medicine is seeking a full-time, passionate, and energetic PMHNP to join our team working specifically as a provider for School-based Health. The successful applicant will have a daily appointment schedule of students in the Excelsior Holistic School and partnering Spokane area schools. Assignments will also extend to offering consultation within Excelsior Family Medicine’s Integrated Care Model, and provider will collaborate with the team on psychiatric medication use. The PMHNP should expect to travel regularly to offer on-site visits at partnering schools. This position complements our interdisciplinary approach to whole-person wellness and will work with providers in primary care, behavioral health counseling, and psychiatric medication management. We serve a diverse population of youth and adults, most of whom have experienced trauma during critical developmental periods in their lives. Excelsior Family Medicine serves internally and externally referred individuals and families. Our organization is committed to high standards of care delivery and a patient-centered approach. How to Qualify:

  • Active licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • Working knowledge of electronic medical record systems.
  • Ability to effectively work with and communicate with interdisciplinary teams, including behavioral health specialists, therapists, and other health care providers.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to process and analyze information effectively.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of staff members and the ability to work with a diverse staff and clients.

Core Responsibilities Include:

  • Participates in treatment planning and execution of the treatment plans for service participants.
  • Is knowledgeable about mental/behavioral health and substance use concerns, utilizes trauma informed, strength based, and harm reduction modalities when working with service participants.
  • Embodies interpersonal therapeutic communication as a tool for connecting with and building rapport with service participants.
  • Readily participates in the coaching of coping/soothing skills, leading groups, and individual service encounters.
  • Demonstrates leadership and directs interventions of clinical staff to adhere to evidence-based practices, agency policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Administers medications to service participants and works closely with pharmacies, and laboratory.
  • Demonstrates good follow through when completing tasks or when taking verbal, written, or standing orders from prescribers.
