As part of a diverse and hardworking team of engineers you will be responsible for the hands-on design, development and testing of turbomachinery for various spaceflight systems. Our team's contribution will impact all aspects of turbomachinery, rocket engine development and operations. This includes individual contribution in the entire design cycle of turbomachinery from turbopump layouts to component design of pumps, turbines, shafts, housings, bearings, and seals, to the maturation of these components through development testing and flight operations.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring component performance and health through testing and design iterations, supporting hardware builds and guiding post-test data reviews. Ability to work optimally in a collaborative environment is crucial.

Qualifications:
  • At least a Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical or Aerospace degree
  • Interest or knowledge of rotating machinery component design and manufacturing including turbines, impellers, cases, bearings, and seals
  • Experience in data analysis and post-processing to assess component health
  • Interest or knowledge of hardware fabrication and quality control
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Willing to relocate to Seattle, WA or Huntsville, AL
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired:
  • Experience with rocket engine turbomachinery applications
  • Experience with cryogenic fluids and oxygen compatibility
  • Experience with castings, forgings, machined parts and other advanced manufacturing techniques
  • Experience with high speed data acquisition and instrumentation using accelerometers and proximity probes
