The Role
The Contract Proposal Manager will co-ordinate and produce the proposal (RFI, PPQ, ITT, RFP etc.) investigation – reviewing and defining requirements coordination with license, legal, insurance etc. to develop lead to award of contracts with potential customers. Develop response through a proposal team that has the skills to prepare and submit a winning proposal.
Responsibilities include the introduction and implementation of all necessary proposal procedures and governance. This is a highly networked role that requires an ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
The Contract Proposal Manager is involved in all Sales funnel process stages. The effort/commitment required at each stage varies and is dependent on the customer requirements. The Proposal Manager is typically engaged at the beginning of the Bid and Lead to opportunity phases of the sales funnel stages.
Responsibilities
- Delivery of compliant, professionally produced proposals within customer defined timeframes with standard proposal submission from estimation.

Coordinate and review / edit proposals input (RFP/RFI) from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from sales, marketing, product teams, finance, commercial, legal and delivery.
- Communicate and influence at a senior level.
- Ability to coach sales teams in persuasive writing and proposal best practice.
- Proposal automation software (or similar) experience.
- Strong time management / coordination skills.
- Strong written English language skills.
- Measures and tracks success that include win rate, capture rate, content quality, revenue, margin, proposals submitted and achievement of internal SLAs. Review contracts upon award for compliance with proposal, legal and company policy.
- Leads negotiations of contractual terms
- Ensures all contract terms and conditions comply with financial and legal requirements for the company and its regulatory entities.
- Assists in the development and fostering of business relationships.
Qualifications
- Proven ability in planning, producing, and delivering compliant proposals within a complex business environment.
- The Contract Proposal Manager will be experienced in scheduling and running proposal kick-off meetings, leading storyboarding sessions, facilitating key review meetings / final document review, coordinating proposal governance / sign off, document production, and delivery of the completed proposal with experience of designing, managing, and updating a Content Library and Proposal Solution.
